Discouragement
Discouragement implies futility, induces emotional pain, suggests you will find relief if you quit trying. Your efforts may cease, but the pain will remain.
Discouragement misinterprets the present and dooms the future. It stifles the now, foments hopelessness, and pockmarks the past with regret.
Discouragement diminishes optimism and contradicts hope.
Discouragement neuters proactivity and stultifies progression.
I don’t recommend it.
Press on, then, even with discouragement as your companion. Its presence is destiny, so don’t wish it away. Persist, and if need be, go rote. Action dissolves discouragement; and once gone, you’ll mock it with light-hearted delight. Until you meet again.
