Author Jerry Jenkins wrote many ‘as told to’ autobiographies of great athletes such as Orel Hershiser, Walter Payton, among others. Jerry said a common denominator among the great athletes: they were all extremely competitive.

John Wooden said, “What is competitive greatness? It’s being at your best when your best is needed. It’s enjoying the challenge when things become difficult, even very difficult.”
